Kwame Marfo

Director

Kwame Marfo has over a decade and half of experience in business, government, civil society and media sectors across four continents with experience ranging including leading strategy and business model analysis at the Bank of England, investing in small and medium-sized enterprises in Sub-Saharan Africa, human rights activism in the Democratic Republic of Congo and a sustainable rubber plantation in Ghana.

He has written for the Business and Financial Times, Citi Business News, Africa at LSE, Modern Ghana, ZNews Africa, Applause Africa, the Africapitalism Institute and MyJoyOnline. Kwame is the International Executive Producer of the award-winning documentary, “When Elephants Fight”, which was Executive Produced and Narrated by Robin Wright (Claire Underwood from the Netflix Series House of Cards).

He is on the boards of Birthright Africa, Impact Capital Forum, Infoview Data Solutions Limited and Business Center for New Americans (BCNA), where he is the Board Chair. He has a BS (Hons) from Binghamton University, an MSc from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the University of Michigan (Ross).

Jimmy Song

Director

Jimmy Song is a global strategy leader with experience at Digital Surgery, a medtech company based in London that was recently acquired by Medtronic, a leading global medical device company.

He has deep expertise advising tech startups throughout London with a data, AI and machine learning-focus as well as Fortune 100 companies in the US on issues related to growth, commercialization, manufacturing, supply chain, go-to-market and M&A strategy. Jimmy obtained his MBA from London Business School and an MSc in Global Politics with a focus on International Development from the London School of Economics.

He also previously worked as an economic development consultant for multilateral development institutions such as the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC, prior to business school.

David Sidhu

Finance Manager

David Sidhu is a Principal at AD Capital, a privately held entrepreneurial investment firm that focuses on small-medium sized businesses across Canada. Dave is also active in the insurance distribution sector in Canada. Previously, he worked in infrastructure private equity as an Investment Analyst, focusing on analysing investment opportunities in the renewables and power space across the US. Dave started his career in the Project & Acquisition Finance group at Santander, where he focused on the origination and structuring of non-recourse financings across North America. 

Dave received a BCom (Honors), with a finance specialization, from the University of British Columbia. Additionally, he serves on the Board of BCNA, a social impact fund investing in businesses operated by refugees and immigrants with low-or-moderate-income backgrounds. 

Daniel Mukozho

Senior/Principal Agronomic Advisor

Daniel Mukozho – MBA, Agronomy and agribusiness specialist with vast experience in management of large-scale commercial farming and investment projects in southern and west Africa.

Daniel has 22+ years of comprehensive, practical commercial farming experience that includes precision farming and marketing in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, Ghana, and Nigeria.  

Daniel’s main international experiences are: 8 years practical farm management in Zimbabwe (coffee, beef and dairy production, wheat, cotton, soya beans, commercial maize, seed maize, macadamia, onions and bananas), Horticulture Manager for The Hurvitz Group, Botswana, January 2008 to 2010 (onions, tomatoes, potatoes, cabbages, eggplant, beetroot, green pepper and watermelon), 6 years (2010-2016) precision farming experience in Zambia (Katambora Rhodes grass, soya, seed maize, wheat, commercial maize, Lucerne, sunflower) for dairy and beef enterprises, 2 years as Managing Director of a large rice project in Ghana (production and processing), with over 4000 out-grower small scale farmers, one and half years of intensive greenfield land development and cropping for Pandagric Novum Limited in Nigeria

Slawomir Szulecki

Chief Technical Officer

Slawomir Szulecki is a seasoned business-man and a serial entrepreneur. An engineer by profession, Slawomir studied civil & water  engineering at Technical University in Warsaw (Poland) and in Hannover (Germany). In 1993 Slawomir moved into the fashion world distributing premium brands as JOOP! and Rene Lezard in Eastern Europe. His retailers were based in Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Baltic Countries, Czech Republic, Slovakia and in many other countries. Currently he is distributing famous luxury brand Karl Lagerfeld.

In 2011, Slawomir moved to Ghana to start his investment projects. He collected almost four years of experience there and is well connected to the country leaders. He has other companies dealing with agribusiness and does undertake trade facilitation between European companies and African companies. His partners in Europe are Big Dutchman (world leader in poultry and piggery equipment), Akpil (implements, Poland), Frontier Connect (modern weather station and soil quality data collection, Luxembourg), Grupo Chamartin (leader in irrigation systems, Spain), Spomax S.A. (leader in production of mils for flour, starch, Poland) etc.

He is actively supporting his local partners in Africa in participation in tenders, e.g. in Liberia, Ghana and Namibia.

Having extensively travelled the continent and investing in businesses, he has come to appreciate the level of poverty and the food insecurity that plagues the African continent. He also understands the challenges in putting together the necessary logistics to harness the much-touted Africa’s agricultural potential. It is for this reason he’s come on board Green Gold Farms team as European Coordinator to help create partnerships between Green Gold Farms and European companies looking to set up and partner African companies for growth.

He’s has organised several trade missions for the companies above across Europe in 2019 and in 2020, which is already yielding results. Slawomir connected Green Gold Farms to GIZ and other European organisations and authorities. He’s also an expert in financial engineering introducing financial support to best conditions of Polish for African partners.

Samuel Mensah

Senior Agronomist

Samuel Mensah is an agronomist with over ten years of experience in farm management in the public and private sector working as an Agricultural Extension Officer, MIS Officer, Crop Officer and Farm Manager.

He is a GIZ Maize Value Chain Certified Trainer. He works to provide farmers with alternative livelihood income especially in the cocoa growing areas, training them on vegetable growing. He has worked with the Ministry of Agriculture on many projects, including Planting for Food and Jobs.

At GGF, he is involved with land development, soil preparation, cropping and crop protection.
